OFFICIAL BLOG FOR LONNIE SCHLEIN
Since leaving The New York Times in 2010, Lonnie Schlein has devoted himself full-time to freelance photography. He served as photo-editor of the prestigious paper for 35 years, and has been recognized for his Pulitzer Prize winning work in The Times section, A Nation Challenged, which documented the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
Lonnie is quickly forging an impressive international career as an exhibiting photographer, and has shown in Italy, the U.S., and Canada. His exhibition, LONNIE SCHLEIN: Photographer, Editing the World, made its Canadian debut at the WKP Kennedy Gallery in North Bay, Canada in 2012.
I met Lonnie at the Chianciano International Award for Digital and Photographic Art 2010 in Italy, which led to our subsequent collaboration and friendship. He is a warm and gracious human being, and it's been a thrill and an honour to continue working with him as he pursues future projects and new endeavours.
This blog is a practical forum for posting news, anecdotes, updates, and other items of interest.
