Chianciano International Art Award - Edition 2012
This September, Mr. Schlein will be returning as president of the jury for this high-profile exhibition, and will be leading several discussion panels.In 2010, Lonnie Schlein was a guest juror and lecturer at the prestigious Chianciano International Award for Digital and Photographic Art held at the Art Museum of Chianciano in Italy. His fellow jurors included:
- The French photographer, Gerald Bruneau, who worked with Andy Warhol at the Factory
- Zoltan Nagy, the Hungarian photographer renowned for his black and white film photography
- Chris Warde-Jones, the Rome-based British photographer whose clients include Vanity Fair, Forbes, Elle, Vogue, Der Speigel, and Sony
- And Marcello Mencarini, the first photographer in Italy to produce a reportage using a digital camera (1995 Venice Film Festival), as well as the first photojournalistic report via mobile phone in collaboration with Nokia and Vodafone Omnitel
The event featured 100 artists and photographers from 35 countries, and was touted as the most important international exhibit of its kind in Europe.
